Crafty Camping, Day 2

Good afternoon campers! Hope everyone is having fun at camp, and I hope that you are finding inspiration for creating your Summer Serving Tray. I am sure most of you have noticed that I have started a Flickr group just for you, so you can begin posting your pictures there anytime.

Over the next 2 weeks there will be other projects where you may want to use some vintage images. Yesterday I linked a place where you can download 2 sheets of vintage images in PDF form. Today I have uploaded them as jpegs for you to copy and use as you feel inspired.

I am also providing PDF links that will enable you to download and print your own patriotic papers. (These are the same ones I sell at Storia HOME.) I have printed them on red, blue, pink and green papers - you can print them on any color you want, and use them for scrapbooking, clip art ephemera, small gift wrapping or any other craft you can think of!

Tomorrow I will be back with our next Craft - Brown Bag Surprise.
If you have any questions or comments about yesterdays craft, or today's downloads, don't hesitate to comment...

In the meantime, if you want an amazing summer salad to munch on whilst you cut and glue, glue and cut, visit the Smitten Kitchen for her amazing barley and corn salad recipe. It will knock your flip flops off I promise - and I don't even like barley!

I have most of my pictures cut for the serving tray and hopefully in the next couple of days will have a chance to complete the project. I was thinking about spray painting my tray first. Would this mess up the glueing of the pictures. Should I use a primer first and then spray it? Be honest...remember I am brand new to this crafting. :)

Hi Jenny! I think as long as your give your pan a good coat or 2 of the paint and let it dry thoroughly you shouldn't have any problem. You might also want to buy can of "clear" coat spray to apply to your paint after it has dried to help seal it even more. Great idea about painting your pan first!

I really like all of the images on this pdf file. Is there a way to separate them if I wanted to use on the paperbag project?

Which images are you talking about? The colorful vintage images or Printable Papers? If you are talking about the colorful vintage follow these steps:

1) Right click your mouse on the images as I have uploaded them here on the blog (not in the PDF form) and save them as JPEGS to your computer in your "My Pictures" folder.

2)Once you have saved them to your computer, go back and open them them in a photo program (Photoshop, Microsoft Picture Manager etc.) or Publisher type program

3) Next use the cropping tool to "crop" all the pictures you don't want out, leaving just the one you do want.

4)Next, save that cropped picture as a separate JPEG file with a new name. Then you can go back to the ORIGINAL JPEG and continue to crop & save each picture individually. Does that make sense at all?

If not let me know which picture you want specifically and I will email it to you.

Hope you are having fun!
